Benefit Plan

Overview

One of the most important breakthroughs we’ve made as a Union is winning a Benefit Plan. Today, thousands of members and their families have Medical & Dental Benefits and Life Insurance.

You may be eligible!

What is covered by your benefits (a.k.a. schedule), what your share of the monthly premium is (if any – some are 100% employer paid), and your eligibility varies from province to province and sometimes from contract to contract.

Please check your Collective Bargaining Agreement to determine if you are eligible (e.g., passed probation, work enough hours, etc.). If you need help determining your eligibility, please consult with your steward or contact your Union rep.

Once you’ve determined that you are eligible, you will need to enroll. The enrolment process depends on the province and city in which you work.

Enrolment

If and when you qualify for benefits, there are three basic steps you need to take.

  1. Acquire enrolment form.
  2. Fill out enrolment form.
  3. Submit enrolment form.

The city or province you work in determines your enrolment process. Please see below for details.

Your supervisor should provide you with the form. (They are also available for downloading below).
