We hope this Winter has been going well for you! We are pleased to announce the following updates for Justice for Janitors members in Ottawa.
In-Person General Membership Meeting Saturday March 25th
Our next general membership meeting will take place in person on March 25th at 1pm.
We’ll discuss updates and issues from this winter. We hope to see you there.
1-3pm at the Jack Purcell Community Centre (320 Jack Purcell Lane)
Parking is available at the neighbouring Elgin Street School.
Stewards Training
Stewards are an integral part of our union as they are our eyes and ears on the shop floor. As we continue to return to in-person activities once more we will be offering training for site stewards at our office throughout the year, starting in April.
If you are a steward who is interested in growing your skills and capacities as a representative, please reach out to us! If you are a rank-and-file member, feel free to encourage your site steward to join us. Training will be offered in English and French.
Collective Agreements
In early January, the Union printed and mailed copies of the collective agreement ratified in July 2022 to all active SEIU Local 2 members in the Ottawa region. By now, you should have received your copy. If you have not, this is likely because the address on file is incorrect or out of date.
We ask that any member who has not received a copy of the collective agreement to call Susan at the Union office at 613-567-3528 to update your contact information so that we can send you a copy. It’s also important to make sure you employer has your updated mailing address.
